Well I'm so good at it now that I can roach anywhere. Usually I roll over as soon as I hear FoMa coming with the camera. She finally caught me one night. The picture is not very good but its me. You can now add roaching to my list of talents.

Look Ma, No Wall..
FoMa keeps a bed against her wall in the bedroom so us fosters can practice 'roaching'. I know its a funny name, but its a greyt way to sleep. FoMa laughs at us when we roll into the wall and scramble to get up. I really don't find it that amusing.

I was born for this!
On Saturday, FoMa got us pups all gussied up and took us to PetSmart for this thing she called a Meet and Greet. She told me that it was a chance for me to show lots of people how greyt Greyhounds are and how special and cute I am. Say no more, I was ready to perform.
Here I am letting Ms Jen dress me in a special bandanna so that everyone would know I'm available for adoption.
There's my FoBro, Tapper, filling me in on how it all works. He said all I have to do is stand by the side of pin and wait for folks to pass by. When they see how beautiful and well behaved we are they will want to stop and pet us.

Don't forget, if you want to meet me for head pettin and ear scratchin, be sure to fill out an application and return it to the good folks at GEGR. Just ask for Shammy and I'll be saving lots of hugs and kisses just for you.

Boy was he right! There were people and kids and lots of other doggies to meet and sniff too. Look at that line of hands. I just smiled and said bring on the head pettin and ear scratchin. I had a greyt time!
By the end of the day, us pups were tuckered out. It's hard work greeting so many people. I didn't want to miss any though just in case one of them is my forever family. I did have time for a nap with my girl pal Hush. FoMa says she could be my big sis cus she's so pretty like me.

What Had Happen Was.........
FoMa: Shammy why are you covered in mud?
Shammy: Uh? Mud? What mud? Oh that mud. See what had happened was.....
It's all Dolly's fault. I was doing my business like a good girl and then Dolly came running by and next thing you know there was mud everywhere. Ok maybe I chased her a little bit.
Guess I gotta go get a bath. Thanks a lot Dolly.

Wonderful Day for the Playground
The weather is beautiful today and FoMa got us all working on our commands early this morning. I practiced lying down and coming when called. FoMa caught me sitting and now she wants to teach me to do that too. My little brain has so many new words to remember. Then it was outside where I worked on jumping into the car and I got it!! FoMa got in and just waited for me. Well I wasn't going to be left behind and I finally jumped in too. Then FoMa went all crazy with the hugs and kisses so I know I did something good. Just to be sure I did it a few more times and now I'm a pro.
After all the work, all us pups went to the playground. I finally got to go in the big yard with all the other doggies. I did really good. I sniffed around and ran behind the other dogs. I didn't mind that the puppies where barking in my face. FoMa said they wanted me to play chase with them. I ran if they other dogs ran but I still don't know how to chase the toys yet. I really like hanging out with the humans because they all give good ear scratches.

Goodbye my new little friend. I hope we can play together again soon.

More Time with FoMa
Well my special family did not come on Saturday. Maybe they forgot or didn't get their application in to the folks at GEGR in time. Not to worry. It means you get to see more great pics of me being beautiful and funny.
FoMa decided that Sunday was going to be doggy fun day. We all loaded into the car. Ok so I needed a little help getting in. I haven't quite gotten the jumping up part yet but I do put my front paws up. FoMa says that's progress but I have to keep working on it. Enough about my short comings.
Us pups went to the playground again and this nice lady came with her lab. She had this gadget that throws balls really far and that was fun. Of course we beat the lab to the ball every time but he was the only one who could pick it up. We had our muzzles on but it was still fun racing everyone to the ball. Boy that lab barked non stop. Guess he had to tell his mom just how and when to throw that ball to get it just right.
After that it was off to the pet store again. FoMa left her phone in the car so she didn't get pics of us picking out our new toys. Of course we picked the ones with squeakers cus they're the best! FoMa had to make Dolly share with Tapper and I. She thought they were all for her. We played with toys until we all fell asleep.
I get to sleep with this one because its still in one piece and we didn't kill the squeaky yet.

Too Excited To Sleep
I'm so excited about going to meet families tomorrow. I sure hope my forever family is there. FoMa has already packed my bags and loaded up the car. She told me that its tradition that the night before adoptions, the foster pup gets to pick out pictures that never made to the blog.
I've had a fun time here learning to be a lady in the house. I made friends with my foster brother and sister and will miss them. I found out that I like yogurt and maybe peanut butter isn't so bad after all. I will stay in a crate if no one is at home but I want to be with all the people when they are home. I do my business outside and when its cold and rainy I don't waste a lot of time. Comfy dogs beds are great but I sure would like to snuggle in bed or on the sofa with my family. I'm active so I like to have busy toys.
I managed to be still for a few pictures. Here are a few from my time with FoMa.
Sleeping down here is nice but I sure would like to be in your bed.

Um, are you going to be long in there? I gotta go potty too.
I love looking out over the neighborhood but I don't bark at anyone.
I love nice weather. I sure hope we have more days like this.
Snuggling with my FoSis. I finally won her over.
FoBro Tapper made the best pillow. He always let me sleep with him. Or on him.
Well that's all for now. Hopefully we can meet in person tomorrow and start our very own photo collections. Foster families are nice but a forever family is the best thing ever. See ya tomorrow.

Fun Times at the Playground
One Sunday when the weather was nice, FoMa loaded us all into the car and said we were going to the playground. Now I didn't know what that was but my foster brother and sister were excited so I figured it must be ok.
Here we are riding nicely in the car. None of us offered to help FoMa drive. Seems she knew right where to find this place.

There was all kinds of dogs barking and running around with each other. FoMa decided we should have our own play yard so we didn't have to worry about noisy neighbors. Dolly and I did watch them for a while though.
FoMa threw a ball and other toys around and we chased them. Couldn't bring them back cus we had our muzzles on. FoMa said it was all about the exercise, having fun and getting to know each other.
After all of that running around, this girl needed a nap.
I sure hope my forever family has a place where I can run and play and maybe learn to fetch. You can tell me all about it when we meet on Saturday. See ya soon.

Getting Down to Business
FoMa told me today that I might meet my forever family this weekend. I'm so excited but I think I should get serious about showing everyone that I am working hard to be ready for retirement. FoMa calls me her sweet wild child. She says I am so sweet and gentle but I have to work hard to remember all these new words. Sometimes I just want to play or have my earsies scratched forever. I do have a few things under my belt and I know I will get the rest.
I have no problem with where to potty. Just show me which door I'm suppose to go and stand by. Houses have lots of doors but I learned the right one and I haven't had any accidents in the house. I'm not a fan of my crate but if you have a yummy treat or safe toy to play with then I can stay in there for a few hours while everyone goes to work. I can go up and down the stairs all by myself and I'm very careful.
I'm working on holding very still when its time to put a leash on. I learned that I have to wait at doors until FoMa says we can go out or come in. Sometimes I forget this one especially if I think we're going someplace fun.
Tapper said I was doing the 'wait' wrong because my feet were on the door seal. I got a 'good girl' from FoMa when I backed up. Thanks FoBro.
I found out that all dogs don't look like me. I met a little fella named Doolittle. He didn't get long legs like me but he's got a really good nose. It seems I need to look down when walking with small dogs so I don't step on them. Good thing Doolittle was such a good sport.

I love going for walks but I had to learn to walk closely with my FoMa and the other pups. Now I can walk with Dolly and we hardly bump each other. We even ignored all the barking dogs.

Now you know I'm working hard and I can't wait to meet you this weekend. I will have my teeth brushed and nails done. Be ready for lots of Shammy love.
I'll be back to share more fun stories and pictures. You can never have too much Shammy.

I Am Definitely Not in Florida Anymore
I was so happy today because FoMa came home early from work. I thought maybe we'd get to go on a nice long walk or maybe another ride in the car. But no........
She puts this horrible coat on me that does not flatter my figure at all. Clearly it was made for a big boy not a dainty girl. Then we go outside where I just froze, literally. I was being pelted with ice that FoMa called sleet. If I look worried its because I am. FoMa says this will turn to something called snow. I don't know what that is but I'm sure I won't like it.

FoMa said I should do my business quickly before it gets colder. I got right to it but the ground felt funny so I tip toed around.
FoMa can we have the nice sunny weather back? Please?
How about a cuter coat? Perhaps something for my feet too.

Me a Foodie? No Way
FoMa says I have become a real foodie. I'm not sure what she means by that. I had to teach her just how I like to have my food prepared. I also need to have a quiet atmosphere when I eat. What's wrong with that? After all I'm working on my beautiful coat and skin. I need to look my best for my forever family. I have a method for every meal. FoMa thinks its strange and took some photos.
First I push the bowl down one side of the kennel when I eat.
Then I turn and push it the other way as I lick the bowl clean.
When it comes to food, this girl doesn't mess around. If you have some really good food at your house I will be very happy. And don't worry, I will show you just how I like it.
