I Need A Snuggle Buddy
I need my very own snuggle buddy. I like to be really close to my human and maybe even share a pillow. Foma doesn't allow me to sleep with her so this is the only proof that I will snuggle with you, if you let me.

Post Picnic Fun
The picnic was fun but I wanted you to know that I had some fun the next morning too. Foma got us up early from those wonderful large dog beds. Breakfast was served.
Then it was off for a morning stroll around Solomon's Island. There I am with my foster siblings walking Foma. Lots of other pups came out to walk their humans too.

After all the walking and running around there was time to do what greyhounds do best. Nap. Thanks lamb chop for being my pillow.
Finally it was time to load up and head back home. Nope we're not tired at all. Just resting our eyes a bit.

Picnic Time
Foma loaded us pups into the car and we were on the road again. It was time for the GEGR Annual Picnic.
There were greyhounds and people galore.
I got to see my travel buddy Boomer again. He is still so handsome. Here we are with Ms Kym.
At the end of the day there was a bonfire. I was a little worried at first when the humans began setting everything on fire but it was warm and comfy on a chilly night.
I had a fun time at the picnic. Next year I want to come back with my forever family. If you can get your application in now, we will have the whole year to make plans.

Family Outing
Foma did that thing again where she gets us pups up early on a Saturday, shines up our teeth and nails and checks behind our ears. Then it was off to the playground. But this time there was tons of people and other dogs on the playground. We didn't get to run and play at all. Instead we hung out with our other greyhound friends. Foma said it was May Day for Mutts! I'm sure she was not referring to me as a 'mutt'. Not this girl. uumf
So I did what I do best, I smiled at all the people who came to visit. This lady said for sure her next dog will be a greyhound. We sold her!

This is me doing my best sit for this lady. Ssshhh don't tell Foma. She thinks I don't know how to sit cus I don't do it for her. But this lady was impressed with how skilled I was.
All that smiling and sitting and working the cuteness was tiring. To my delight they gave us the biggest water bowl I've ever seen. Why it was big enough to stand in and cool your feet off.
Even better was when you could get the giant water bowl to yourself and just stretch out. Aahhhh that was the best!
On the way to the car, Foma took me to see really big dogs she called horses. They smelled funny and didn't seem all that happy to meet us. Guess they didn't have a giant water bowl to lay round in all day. Sorry fellas.
Don't forget if you met me at May Day for Mutts and want to be my forever family hurry up and get your application into the good folks at GEGR. Just tell them you'd like to meet Shammy again. Could you get me one of those giant water bowels? I promise you can cool your feet off too if you don't take up too much room.

My Vacation at GIG - Part 2
Ok, a few people have been asking me to finish my vacation story. It was a fun time and the 2nd day was a long adventure for us pups. It started normal enough. We got our breakfast in the nice hotel room with the huge gigantic dog beds. Then it was off for a leisurely walk around the grounds of the hotel. Then it was back for the morning naps.....right?

That night we went to a big outdoor tent. It was really windy but I didn't mind. I was more focused on the food. Hey can I have some of that?
This was a fun weekend. I'm glad I had time to spend with my foster brother and sister and I got to see some of my other friends. I love the hotel place with the really big dog beds. Wish we had more time to nap in them. Foma says we don't have those at her house. Mmmm ok. Well, good bye GIG. I sure hope my forever family will bring me back again next year.
Oh no, no nap again. It was off to another battlefield walk. That nice guide was there talking about the stone people again. Lots of people and pups came along again. We got to climb that really big hill.
And the stone people were there too. There was even a big dog in stone.
I tried to listen more that day but still had time to just take in the sights. That's me looking out on a big field wondering what everyone else was looking at. i didn't see any rabbits or squirrels.
Sometime I just held up Dolly's head. She wanted to take a nap too.
Once the walk was over we got a quick nap in the car. Then it was back to the place with all the stuff for sell. Foma went to another one of those talky things where all us pups just took another nap.
Then it was outside to spend some quality time with my friends. Well mostly we just slept in the nice sunshine. Bet you can figure out which one is me.

My Vacation at GIG - Part 1
So Foma loaded all us pups into the car on Friday morning while it was still dark. The car was packed but we all found a space to snooze for the ride. We got to Gettysburg just in time for breakfast. Foma remember to food! Yay. We ate outside the car and then it was into this place called a hotel to meet some friends. There were lots of doors to choose from but we finally found the right one. Boy these rooms had the biggest dog beds ever.
Here we are just looking around.
These are our friends Janey and Lois Anne enjoying the big bed. I couldn't wait to try them out. After all it was time for my morning nap.
But there was no time for naps. We loaded up a van and went to walk around a battlefield. There was a guide who walked us around and talked about why all those stone people were sitting around. Me I just wanted to say hello to all the greyhounds and people. I've never seen so many in one place before. There was also grass and trees that needed sniffing too. I really can't recall anything the guide said. I may have been a wee bit distracted.
Must be time for a nap now, cus us pups are tired. Doesn't Foma know that we sleep all morning after breakfast. Guess she forgot because it was off to this building with so many tables and booths with stuff for sell. Oh and more greyhounds and people to meet. What a way to get ear scratches. All I had to do was walk up and say hello and everyone gave me pettins. I even found a few greyhounds that looked like me.
Then if all that window shopping wasn't enough, we headed off to a room to listen to people talk about greyhounds. This part wasn't so bad. At least we got to take a nap.
Finally at the end of a very long day, we found our hotel room. I was so happy. It had the big dog beds too. Foma told me to get off and sleep on the small beds on the floor but this one was so much nicer. See Dolly and I could share it. Besides, I was too tired to keep jumping on and off the big bed. So I went to sleep.
Come back to see how I spent the rest of my time at Greyhounds in Gettysburg.

We're Going On A Vacay!!
Foma has been fussing around the house for the last week or so, pulling things out of closets and rummaging around the garage. She's made more of a mess than us pups. Foma finally told us we are going to something called GIG(Greyhounds In Gettysburg). She said that since I've been such a good girl, I get to go too!!! Oh boy I get to ride in the car, meet tons of new greyhounds and sniff around in some really old historical places. I can't wait.
I know you will miss me but don't worry, I will tell you all about it. Foma promises to take lots of pictures of me in all the fun places. Here's some cute pics of me in the mean time.

Foma thought it was cute because my tongue was peaking out.
Me, just chillin downstairs.
Well I need to go make sure Foma has packed all my important stuff like food and snacks. I'll be sure to watch over those in the car. Check back for fun stories and cool pictures as this family hits the road tonight.
"On the road again.
Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again."

I Just Might Be In Love
Foma gave a ride to a new pup headed to his foster home. It was a great idea. Cheered me right up. I really like a big, strong, handsome pup and Boomer was all of that.
Yes, I could have nestled a little closer to him. I was just offering him some support since I'm really good at riding in the car. In fact, Foma says it was my best car ride ever! No I wasn't showing off. I just didn't want to leave Boomer's side. What if he needed me? I was ready to lend a paw.

What do you think? I think we make a lovely couple. Maybe we can have a play date? or go for a long walk on the beach? or maybe share a meal? Boomer have your Foma call my Foma. Just call me.

Somewhere Out There.........
.......is my very special forever family.
I didn't meet them at the adoptathon on Saturday. I did meet some really nice people and some new pups. Some of them found their families and left to start their journey into retirement. I was excited for them and can't wait to hear their stories.
Foma said the day was too pretty to waste so she took some new photos of me. I need to show off my new curves since the last time I was at greyhound central. Who's that pretty girl?

Wait, before you go, let me give you the Shammy smile.
I'll be here, waiting just for you. Now get your application in to the folks at GEGR and tell them you want to meet Shammy.
"Then we'll be together, somewhere out there, out where dreams come true."

In The Middle
Foma says I'm the creme in her Oreo and she will miss my funny face if I get adopted this weekend. Even though I will miss my foster family I really want a family of my very own. I hope I see you on Saturday.

All By Myself
FoMa has been taking videos of me jumping in the car. She would have to help me at first. Then once she saw that I could do it, she would wait for me to jump but now I jump in as soon as she says 'up'. She says my video is now ready for public viewing. Foma wants you to know that even though I waited really nice for her to tell me when it was ok to jump out, I don't wait all the time so you should be careful and watch me when you first open the door. I will keep working on that.

Walking Weather
Good walking weather is what FoMa has declared it and us pups get to take much longer walks now. I figured its a good time for me to perfect my leash skills. If I forget and pull, FoMa gives me a little tug on the leash and I wait for the slow pokes(I mean everyone else) to catch up.
This weekend we got to go all the way to where there's some water. There was lots of smells and sounds and even birds flying around. Here's some pics of me just taking it all in.

The girls got to walk down to the water but fobro Tapper had to stay back cus he might jump right in. Us girls aren't about to get our hair wet.
I think I need more long Spring weather walks. Are you up for that? If so make sure you let the nice folks at GEGR know. We can be walking buddies.

Look Ma, No Wall..
FoMa keeps a bed against her wall in the bedroom so us fosters can practice 'roaching'. I know its a funny name, but its a greyt way to sleep. FoMa laughs at us when we roll into the wall and scramble to get up. I really don't find it that amusing.
Well I'm so good at it now that I can roach anywhere. Usually I roll over as soon as I hear FoMa coming with the camera. She finally caught me one night. The picture is not very good but its me. You can now add roaching to my list of talents.

I was born for this!
On Saturday, FoMa got us pups all gussied up and took us to PetSmart for this thing she called a Meet and Greet. She told me that it was a chance for me to show lots of people how greyt Greyhounds are and how special and cute I am. Say no more, I was ready to perform.
Here I am letting Ms Jen dress me in a special bandanna so that everyone would know I'm available for adoption.
There's my FoBro, Tapper, filling me in on how it all works. He said all I have to do is stand by the side of pin and wait for folks to pass by. When they see how beautiful and well behaved we are they will want to stop and pet us.

Don't forget, if you want to meet me for head pettin and ear scratchin, be sure to fill out an application and return it to the good folks at GEGR. Just ask for Shammy and I'll be saving lots of hugs and kisses just for you.

Boy was he right! There were people and kids and lots of other doggies to meet and sniff too. Look at that line of hands. I just smiled and said bring on the head pettin and ear scratchin. I had a greyt time!
By the end of the day, us pups were tuckered out. It's hard work greeting so many people. I didn't want to miss any though just in case one of them is my forever family. I did have time for a nap with my girl pal Hush. FoMa says she could be my big sis cus she's so pretty like me.
